Our hope while working with Camp Paradise is to partner alongside and support them in what they are doing. The founder and Director of Camp Paradise, Jim Forsyth, has many dreams and visions for the camp. His "desire is to provide young people with a week of fun, friends, and fellowship, as well as giving them the opportunity for a life-changing week which will affect long-term radical change in their lives." -Camp Paradise. Our hope is to partner and support Camp Paradise, as well as work to do repairs and updates on camp facilities.
During the summer of 2015 a few N60 team members went up to Camp Paradise to counsel at one of the kids camps for a week. It is here when we fell in love with the people and the work that God is doing there. The kids are so full of energy, and for them to have a safe place to come to for a week is of most importance. During the camp we ran chapels, outdoor games, swam in the river and much more. The relationships that were built during this time are on-going. The kids are so open to learning about God and who He is. Our ultimate goal in partnering with Camp Paradise is to support them in creating a safe place for kids to learn about the love of God.
We hope to head up for a time in the summer of 2016, as well as continue to support Jim in any way possible. His love for the kids of the camp is overflowing. We believe that God can use even the youngest of kids to further His kingdom. He is an unstoppable God. Prayers are always welcome for God to continue to provide for Jim and his wife, as well as for the hearts of the kids who visit there to be open to God and His amazing love! Donations are welcome, as the camp can always use supplies.
A few camp needs:
- Electrical Work
- Bunkhouse Repairs
- Fire Extinguishers
- Saskatoon Plants
- Life Jackets (Kids)
- Water Bottles
- Sporting supplies (Tetherball, Archery)
Jim has a vision of a main lodge for the camp, where all year around ministries and programs can be run out of. As right now during the winter he runs a Bible Study and activity every Saturday for the kids of Hay River in his living room. He would love to expand and be able to run more ministries and programs during the winter months.
Thank you for your support and prayers!
